Material Change

This feature allows you to create dynamic animations by changing material properties on objects over time.

Material Settings:

Add Material

Click on the "New Material" option to add a material and define material properties:

These properties will include:

  • Material Type: Choose the type of material you want to create, such as standard, metallic, or glass.

  • Map Type Selection: Select the map type that defines how the texture information is applied to the object's surface. Common map types include diffuse (base color), normal (surface details), and roughness (specular reflections).

  • Object-Level Materials: Materials are associated with individual objects. When you import an object, its materials are included and accessible in the object's properties section.

Material Selection

The properties section provides options to select or deselect materials for each object. Only selected materials will appear on the animation timeline for keyframe editing.

Animating Material

  • Once a material is selected on the object, you can access its properties on the animation timeline.

  • By adjusting these properties over time and setting keyframes, you can create animations that change the material's appearance throughout your video or web page project.

Preserve UV

The "Preserve UV" feature helps you maintain consistent textures across your 3D object, even when it's broken down into separate nodes. This is particularly useful for complex meshes with intricate details.

What are UVs?

Imagine unwrapping a 3D object like a box and laying it flat. This flat layout is called a UV map. It defines how a 2D texture image (like a photo) is applied to the 3D object's surface.

How Preserve UV Works?

Enabling "Preserve UV" ensures that when you modify the mesh of a node, its associated UV map is automatically updated. This maintains a consistent and accurate texture application across all connected nodes, even if their meshes are separate.

Benefits of Preserve UV:

Accurate Textures: Ensures textures remain properly aligned and avoid stretching or warping.

Streamlined Workflow: Saves time by automatically adjusting UV maps during edits, eliminating the need for manual correction.

Improved Visual Quality: Creates a visually cohesive and realistic appearance for your 3D object.

You don’t have to worry which material/texture is on which node.
